Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has publicly shared his struggle with three serious health conditions — trigeminal neuralgia, brain aneurysm, and arteriovenous malformation (AVM). The actor opened up about these diagnoses during the premiere of Netflix’s The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3, aired on June 21.
While chatting with host Kapil Sharma, the 59-year-old actor stunned fans and the live audience with his health disclosure. Despite the medical challenges, Salman emphasized that he continues to work relentlessly.
“We’re breaking bones daily, dealing with trigeminal neuralgia, a brain aneurysm, and AVM – but we keep going and keep working,” he said with a smile on his face.
He further elaborated on how these conditions impact his life, especially when discussing his decision to remain unmarried.
“I’m out here breaking my bones every day. My ribs are fractured, I’m working despite having trigeminal neuralgia, and there’s an aneurysm in the brain, yet I’m still working. There’s also an AV malformation, and still, I’m carrying on,” Salman said in Hindi.
“And the moment their [wife’s] mood sours, they will take away half of what I had. Had this happened when I was younger, it would’ve been fine, and I could’ve earned it all back. But now, starting over again from scratch is tough and tiring.”

Trigeminal neuralgia is a chronic nerve condition that affects the trigeminal nerve, responsible for facial sensation. People with this disorder experience sudden, intense facial pain triggered by routine actions like brushing teeth or even touching the face. A brain aneurysm occurs when a blood vessel in the brain balloons due to a weakened wall. While some aneurysms remain dormant, others can rupture and lead to bleeding in the brain, known as a hemorrhagic stroke — a medical emergency that can be fatal.
