Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir hosted a high-profile dinner to pay tribute to Pakistan’s political leadership, the Armed Forces, and the resilient spirit of the nation during recent critical operations, Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), stated.
The event was attended by a distinguished gathering, including President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Senate Chairman, National Assembly Speaker, federal ministers, governors, chief ministers, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, and service chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Senior leaders from key political parties, government officials, and top-ranking officers of the three armed services were also present.
During his address, Field Marshal Munir expressed “profound gratitude to the political leadership for their strategic foresight during Marka-e-Haq” and highlighted the “seamless inter-services coordination that ensured operational success in Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.”
He also praised the country’s youth and media for playing a critical role in “countering the disinformation campaign waged by India,” calling them a “steel wall” against hostile propaganda.
In addition, the COAS commended the nation’s scientists, engineers, and diplomats for their “outstanding contributions” and unwavering professionalism, which proved vital during the conflict.
The evening served as a strong symbol of national solidarity and collective determination to move forward with strength and unity.
Participants at the event paid homage to the Armed Forces’ courage and sacrifices, acknowledged the wisdom of national leadership, and lauded the deep-rooted patriotism of the people of Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also presented Field Marshal Asim Munir with a symbolic painting reflecting the bravery of Pakistani forces during wartime.
