PESHAWAR – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm resolve to eliminate terrorism, promising swift justice for every act of violence against the nation. Field Marshal Asim Munir vows retribution for terror victims.
Field Marshal Munir visited the Corps Headquarters in Peshawar on Saturday, where he was briefed in detail about the current security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism operations, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Funeral and Hospital Visit
During his visit, the COAS attended the funeral prayers of the Shuhada at Bannu Garrison, who embraced martyrdom in a deadly attack in North Waziristan. He also met the injured soldiers at the Bannu Combined Military Hospital (CMH) to offer support and pay tribute to their sacrifices.
A Clear Message of Justice
Field Marshal Asim Munir vows retribution for terror victims:
“The blood of every innocent Pakistani shall always be avenged, and any attempt to undermine Pakistan’s internal stability will be met with swift and decisive retribution.”
He added:
“All facilitators, abettors, and perpetrators of terrorism will be relentlessly pursued and brought to justice—without exception and at all costs.”
Standing United Against Terror
He commended the unwavering courage and resilience of Pakistan’s security forces, who continue to fight Indian-sponsored Fitna al-Khawarij with bravery. The army chief emphasized that the entire nation stands united in its determination to root out terrorism completely.
“The people of Pakistan stand united in their resolve to eradicate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,” he said, while asserting that the face of the true perpetrator of regional terrorism would be exposed globally.
Need for Institutional Reforms
Highlighting internal security challenges, the field marshal stressed the urgent need for stronger law enforcement agencies. He particularly pointed to the capacity enhancement of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police.
He urged the relevant government institutions to prioritize the strengthening of civilian law enforcement bodies. The Army, he said, will continue to support this capacity-building process across the board.
COAS Reiterates Pakistan’s Direction
Speaking at a separate event earlier in the day, Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed that Pakistan is progressing despite challenges.
“Pakistan is moving towards a bright future, though the country’s enemies are constantly trying to hinder progress,” he stated.
He also addressed the unresolved Kashmir issue:
“The world should realize that unless the Kashmir issue is resolved in a just and peaceful manner, there can never be lasting peace in South Asia.”
Reiterating the commitment, he concluded:
“We will complete our war against terrorism and rid the country of this menace forever.”
