13 Soldiers Martyred in North Waziristan Suicide Attack

MIR ALI – A brutal suicide bombing left 13 soldiers martyred in North Waziristan, Mir Ali area on Saturday, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The attack was executed by Indian-sponsored terrorists using a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED).

Convoy Targeted by Suicide Bomber

The military’s media wing reported that a convoy of security forces was ambushed by a suicide attacker driving an explosive-laden vehicle. The attacker attempted to strike the lead vehicle, but troops intercepted the attempt, averting a larger tragedy. However, a second explosive vehicle rammed into a convoy vehicle, resulting in massive casualties.

According to ISPR:

“In a cowardly attack, planned and orchestrated by the terrorist state of India, and executed by its proxy Fitna al Khwarij, a Security Forces convoy was targeted today in general area Mir Ali, North Waziristan District.”

Three civilians, including two children and a woman, were also severely injured in the explosion.

13 soldiers martyred in North Waziristan. The following personnel embraced martyrdom in the attack:

  • Sepoy Muhammad Ramzan, 33, Dera Ghazi Khan
  • Sepoy Nawab, 30, Quetta
  • Sepoy Zubair Ahmed, 24, Naseerabad
  • Sepoy Muhammad Sahki, 31, Dera Ghazi Khan
  • Sepoy Hashim Abbasi, 20, Abbottabad
  • Sepoy Muddasir Ejaz, 25, Layyah
  • Sepoy Manzar Ali, 23, Mardan

Security Forces Kill 14 Terrorists in Response

Following the attack, security forces launched a sanitization operation in the area. A fierce exchange of fire took place, resulting in the deaths of 14 terrorists.

ISPR stated:

“The perpetrators of this heinous and cowardly act will be brought to justice.”

The military vowed to continue operations until all terrorist threats in the region are neutralized.

National Leaders Condemn Attack

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the deadly assault and paid tribute to the fallen soldiers.

President Zardari said:

“The martyrs ensured the security of the motherland by sacrificing their lives.”
“Such a cowardly attack cannot dampen the morale of the nation.”

Prime Minister Shehbaz stated:

“Indian-backed terrorists committed [a] cowardly act. The entire nation salutes the martyrs.”

Both leaders reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to eliminate terrorism.

KP CM Pays Homage

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur also expressed deep sorrow and paid tribute to the martyrs.

He stated:

“Security forces have made unprecedented sacrifices to establish peace in the country and eliminate terrorism.”

The chief minister added that the nation stands united with the armed forces.

Ongoing Security Threats

This tragic incident is among the deadliest attacks in recent months in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Security experts link the rising violence to the end of the ceasefire between the state and the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in 2022.

Recent data shows a surge in terror attacks in the region. Pakistan was ranked second in the 2025 Global Terrorism Index, with terror-related deaths up 45% from last year.
